Agency: Aging

The Department for the Aging (DFTA) develops and runs services for older New Yorkers. These services help to maintain their independence and freedom, and allow them to remain active in their community. The Department is responsible for a significant amount of discretionary funding, which supports the many community-based organizations in the City that support senior citizens. Edwin Mendez-Santiago is the commissioner of DFTA; for more information, go to www.nyc.gov/aging.
