What your money funds:

This bureau is responsible for the maintenance, renovation and emergency structural repairs to approximately 200 facilities owned by the Department. They oversee all garages, section stations, marine transfer stations, repair shops, office buildings and all properties at the Fresh Kills Landfill.

1. According to DSNY, in FY07, the Bureau of Building Management (BBM) received approximately 13,500 work requests for DSNY buildings.
2. BBM runs an anti-graffiti program in which community boards can request to have graffiti painted over. In FY07, the anti-graffiti program used 2,016 gallons of paint to cover 424,431 square feet of graffiti on 690 locations citywide.
