What your money funds:
This program is responsible for buying, repairing and maintaining all DSNY equipment, including trucks, street sweepers, salt spreaders, snow meters, front-end loaders, and more.
- DSNY has a fleet of about 6,000 vehicles. A typical community district has approximately 75 pieces of equipment to help service its sanitation needs.
- Currently, the entire DSNY diesel fleet operates on B5 BioDiesel. DSNY operates about 250 hybrid and 50 compressed natural gas vehicles.
