What your money funds:

This program funds social services and transportation services.

  1. Social Services: Serves naturally occurring retirement communities (NORCs), social adult day services, and intergenerational programming.
  2. NORCs or Naturally Recurring Retirement Communities: Housing, social services and healthcare providers collaborate to provide critical services that allow seniors to remain in their own homes as they age. DFTA supports 28 NORCs in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens, and they serve about 45,000 seniors.
  3. Transportation Services: provides transport through community-based partners for seniors who are unable to use subway or buses. This helps seniors perform daily routine activities, or go to senior centers and other DFTA programs.
  4. The Department works with MTA-New York City Transit, the agency that administers Access-A-Ride.
