What your money funds:

This program is responsible for providing educational and vocational opportunities for inmates, as well as various health seminars and programs. Additionally, it funds discharge planning services.

  1. Vocational programs include work in the jail's bakery, tailor shop, laundry or print shop. These are designed to keep inmates healthy and attempt to reduce recidivism upon discharge. According to DOC, in FY08, an average of 128 inmates participated in these programs daily.
  2. According to DOC, in FY08, an average of 865 inmates participated in education programs daily.
