What your money funds:
This program funds the Bureau of Tuberculosis Control, which is tasked with preventing the spread and occurrence of TB.
- When a person is suspected to have or is confirmed to have TB, the office will make sure they get treatment and are observed to make sure they do not continue to pose a threat to healthy people.
- In FY08, there were approximately 900 cases of TB identified, and 90% of these patients completed active treatment for TB.
