What your money funds:

This program is tasked with the prevention of neighborhood real estate abandonment. The group identifies buildings in disrepair and/or at risk of abandonment within the city.

  1. HPD conducts annual assessments and develops plans to address building deficiencies. HPD will then use funds, when necessary and permitted, to repair and develop these properties.
  2. In FY08, 1,000 properties were assessed and determined to be at risk of abandonment. Improvements or repairs began on about 350 of those buildings.
