What your money funds:
This program is tasked with the prevention of neighborhood real estate abandonment. The group identifies buildings in disrepair and/or at risk of abandonment within the city.
- HPD conducts annual assessments and develops plans to address building deficiencies. HPD will then use funds, when necessary and permitted, to repair and develop these properties.
- In FY08, 1,000 properties were assessed and determined to be at risk of abandonment. Improvements or repairs began on about 350 of those buildings.
