What your money funds:

This relatively smaller department is aimed at preserving affordable housing through the five boroughs. They are responsible for all other initiatives in the preservation area, which are not included within Anti-Abandonment, Code Enforcement or Emergency Repair Programs. This includes:

  1. Field Offices for HPD within the five boroughs.
  2. Housing Education Program (HEP): A comprehensive program offering interactive, hands-on instruction on a range of conservation, maintenance and improvement issues.
  3. Narcotics Control Unit: Works to reverse the negative effects of drug dealing operations in City-owned residential buildings. NCU also works with private property owners to develop building-specific narcotics abatement plans.
